The construction of dust collector is fabricated and the filter media is placed inside of the dust collector. Filter media is chosen depending upon the application. The suction air stream by the blower from source point is passing in the dust collector. The filter media is placed in the path of air stream. The dust particles stopped in the dust collector by the filter media, and form a dust cake on the incoming surface of filter media. And as more dust particles collect on the filter media, the thickness of the dust formation is increased. This increase shows our dust collector efficiency.

The two main functions of media filters are :

(i) To stop dust particles on its surface while allowing clean air molecules to pass through and,

(ii) To provide easy release of the dust particles during cleaning.The high efficiency of these collectors is due to the dust formed on the surface on which dust particles collect through the following four mechanisms :

(1)Inertial collection
 
Dust particles strike the fiber filters placed perpendicular to the gas flow direction instead of changing direction with the gas stream.

(2)Interception

Particles that do not cross the fluid streamlines come in contact with fiber filters because of the size.

(3) Brownian movement

Sub micro particles are diffused, increasing the probability of contact between the particles and collecting surface.

(4) Electro static forces

The presence of electro static charge on the particles and the filter can increase dust capture.
